Babel
Official site: cosmopolitan refuge after each run. Achievement Auld Lang Syne: Return to Babel after beating the game.

A Kernel Hearts expedition is a climb of the Tower of Babel, the sentient dungeon the store and official site both name as the place you go to dethrone God. You leave the memory-backup laboratory, fight through named domains, talk to inhabitants, and either reach a guardian or die back to the last backup. Director Akira wrote that the public demo contains 2 floors while the full game has around 7 — the only floor counts this site will print, because no first-party map assigns every named place to a numbered storey.

The tower is both the dungeon and the antagonist. Official site copy calls Babel a cosmopolitan refuge after each run, while the tower itself is the sentient climb. Steam news is the source for the 2-versus-around-7 floor split: the demo that shipped 31 March 2026 and updated for Next Fest on 15 June 2026 stops at two floors, and Akira’s note is the only first-party number for the 1.0 height. Before my Blood is Dry asks you to reach the top at Level 1, which is how we know a “top” exists without inventing a floor plan.
Bring the combat still with you mentally: pale stone, red rings, no fake health bars on this page. Those rings are the visual language of a Tower fight, not telemetry. If you want chip loadouts or unit kits, leave this guide for MAHOU.OS and M.A.H.O.U Units after you know which named domain you died in.
Thirteen place records come from the official site, store copy, and Steam achievements. Babel is the hub-city. The Tower of Babel is the run-dungeon. The memory-backup laboratory is the hub-lab. Camelot, Pink Wink Cupid, Stronghold, Skybound Citadel, Sinner, Playroom, Juddecca (Steam news also spelled Judeca in playtest notes), Vulcan’s Forge, Garden of Eden, and Folktale Fields are location records whose only first-party proof is an achievement name plus description. These records skip turn those names into a tourist map.
Auld Lang Syne is the achievement for returning to Babel after beating the game, which is why the city is not just a loading screen. Welcome to Sinner is a death location. Fly me to the Moon is the Skybound Citadel. Catch me if you can is the Playroom climb. Plantasia is the Garden of Eden. Folktale Fields has a no-hit clear. Read the stacked records below for the exact Steam sentences rather than a paraphrased spoiler sheet.
Seraph, Lucifer, Gabriel, and Hanniel are the named domain guardians with Steam or news proof. One more god Rejected is the first Seraph kill; playtest notes mention a level before that fight. Die for me...<3 is the first Lucifer kill. The Legend Never Dies is a no-hit Gabriel clear, and the third closed playtest fully reworked Gabriel and Hanniel. Sky Angel kills you for Be Afraid. Shooting Star is the first slay for What about my star?. Farewell, Babel. is the hidden final-boss flag, paired with the Level 1 top-of-tower achievement.
No page on this wiki assigns those fights to floor numbers. The marble-and-wings still is the visual for an angel encounter, not a DPS check. If you are hunting the related Steam row, filter Achievements by combat rather than copying a fan damage table.
Sky Angel and Shooting Star are lesser angel records, not domain bosses with playtest rewrite notes. Be Afraid is a death, What about my star? is a first slay. Keep them on the guardian list because the Steam board groups them with Seraph and Lucifer, and because the combat still’s red rings match that family of fights better than a Babel street shot.
Spend chips in the lab, not in a pause menu you wish existed. Mix powers on the floor because the store says to. Gift people in Babel because bonds have achievements. Treat 2 floors as the demo height and around 7 as the 1.0 height. Treat named domains as achievement-backed places, not as a numbered itinerary. Treat Seraph, Lucifer, Gabriel, and Hanniel as named guardians without HP bars. That list is the entire playbook this guide can write without lying.
If a community map assigns Camelot to floor three, ignore it here. If a DPS sheet assigns Lucifer a stun window, ignore it here. Come back when Steam news prints a floor list or a boss patch. Until then, the combat still, the domain records, and the guardian sentences are the expedition file. Achievements remain the hunt overlay rather than a spoiler comic.
Ping exists on the co-op HUD. Use it. The rest of that HUD — light, heavy, spell, lock on, item, interact, dodge, jump, reset camera — is the entire official control list. If a later patch adds a command, it can join that sentence. Until then, do not expect a hidden crafting menu inside the tower.
The Steam pitch asks you to mix powers each floor rather than freeze a single build for the whole tower. Mementos, relics, and the Heavenly Curse burst are the tools you actually pick up mid-run; chips wait in the lab until the backup.
After the expedition you return to the last memory backup in a laboratory on the outskirts of humanity’s last holdout. That is the moment you spend coins and crystals on the 256KB MAHOU.OS board, not during the climb itself.
